PBL Institute at CERTL - Summer 2008
Middle and High School Teachers: July 7-11, 2008
The Problem-Based Learning Institute for Middle and High School teachers will be held from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (with breakfast and lunch provided) on July 7-11, 2008. There will also be follow-up sessions to heighten your PBL teaching skills. You will be required to attend the full week's training in order to fulfill your obligation and receive full renewal credit for the workshop. There will also be four follow-up sessions with renewal credit of their own.Since this workshop is being held during the summer, teachers who are out of school will be paid a stipend of $80/day or $40/half-day. Any follow-up session held after regular school hours or on a Saturday will also be covered by a stipend at these rates.
This workshop is limited to 30 classroom teachers. You must have your principal's approval, and you and your principal must sign an agreement stating that you will go back to your respective school and apply the Problem-Based Learning concept in your classroom.
An Orientation Meeting for all teachers who will be attending this workshop will be held at the Reynolda Business Center, 2400 Reynolda Road. Openings in the workshop are filled on a “first come” basis, and usually fill up quickly. If you would like to participate, please return the attached application and agreement to Mary Green, CERTL Office by Friday, March 28, 2008. You may do so through your school mail. An email will confirm your participation.

Elementary School Teachers - June 23-27, 2008

There will also be follow-up sessions to heighten your PBL teaching skills. You will be required to attend the full week's training in order to fulfill your obligation and receive full renewal credit for the workshop.
